Welcome to my story!

I'm a small-town country girl that has lived and visited all around the world. Yes, this means I would LOVE to travel for you! I am originally from a tiny town in Iowa. I moved away to get my undergraduate, in a city I would like to call a "Hallmark" town in Northwest, Arkansas. Then I felt led to Pittsburgh for my graduate degree, and now it's my home. There's just something about the beautiful bridges, a beautiful community, and lovely towns that hasn't led me to leave. Since I grew up in such a small town, I have always desired to travel the world. Well, now it has turned into a long list bucket list and full of memories all over the world. I have traveled for clients that have weddings from Colorado to Florida and anything in between.

When I don't have a camera in my hand or coordinating an event, you can find me at church, concerts, or dancing with kids in the kitchen as a nanny. I love being surrounded by people, and there is usually always a handful of photos from each experience. I can't help myself.

Photography has always been so special to me. There is just something about using my gifting to turn around and gift them to you that's so special. I have been photographing for a decade now. During that time, I got my undergraduate degree in photography and then my master's in higher education. While I was getting my master's, I took a break from my photography business to pursue events and ministry. Now, I have combined my passions to create Erika Forney Photography and Events.

When it comes to my style, I enjoy capturing the REALNESS of who you are. You will often find me trying new ways to make you laugh and have fun to capture your genuine smiles and moments as if I am not even there. When I am coordinating, I take serious attention to every detail and bring others comfort that expectations will be met within reason. I am very creative, intentional, and organized. There's nothing more that I want them to make my clients genuinely happy by making their experience happen without any troubles.
